Cameron "Cam" Voelker
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." --Lao Tzu
Cam died peacefully at home with his family at his side after a three year battle with Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). He faced this devastating disease in the same fashion he lived his life - with courage and optimism. As this incurable disease progressed, his activities became more constrained. In spite of this he never lost his equanimity or his sense of humour and always engaged with everyone around him.
Surviving Cam are Kim, his beloved wife of 46 years; his daughter Meghan of Brightlingsea UK and her husband Steve and their two boys Aidan and Owen; his son Chris of Squamish and his wife Christy and their daughter Gracie; and his daughter Heidi also of Squamish and her partner Marty and daughter Reese. Cam is also survived by his sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their children and grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his son-in-law Neil.
Cam had many passions and lived his life to the fullest. He was always up for an adventure or trying new activities from windsurfing to mountain biking, skiing, hiking and extensive road trips with Kim. Family was the most important thing to Cam and he loved capturing the many moments with his camera - another great passion.
Cam will be greatly missed and his memories will be cherished by all who knew and cared about him.
"They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still." --William Penn
